Privacy policy

We keep only what we need to log you in, take payment and deliver the data. We do not sell personal data and do not use ad or analytics trackers.

What we store

  • Account: your email address, preferred language (the one you last used at checkout, for our emails), and when the account was created.
  • Login codes: stored only as a keyed hash, with the requesting IP address, to limit abuse.
  • API key: stored hashed, plus an encrypted copy so you can view it on your account page; when it was created, first used and last used.
  • Downloads: for each download, the date and stream, the time, IP address, country (as reported by our host) and browser or client name. This enforces the daily limit, stops key sharing, and decides refund eligibility.
  • Payments: order records (what, amount, status, dates) and your Stripe customer ID. Card details are entered on Stripe's page; we never see or store them.
  • Emails sent: which account emails went out and when, so none is sent twice.

Cookies and browser storage

  • ptt_session — a login cookie (HTTP-only, 30 days). Without it you cannot stay logged in.
  • In your browser's local storage: your theme choice and the email you are logged in with (to show the account link). Nothing is sent anywhere.

There are no advertising or analytics cookies, so there is no consent banner.

Services we use

  • Cloudflare hosts the site, database and files, and keeps short-lived request logs.
  • Stripe processes payments and stores your billing details under its own privacy policy. We also note on each payment when its API key was first used, for refund checks.
  • Resend sends our emails: login codes, purchase confirmations, and subscription notices — 3 days before a cancelled subscription ends or a yearly one renews, when access pauses after a failed renewal, and when a subscription ends.

How long

  • Login codes are deleted one day after they are created; expired login sessions are deleted.
  • Account, key, download and order records are kept while your account exists. Order records may be kept longer where tax or accounting law requires it.

Your choices

You can ask for a copy of your data, a correction, or deletion of your account by emailing support@polyticktape.com from the address you log in with. Deleting the account ends access to everything you bought.
